SMS flaw in new BlackBerry 10.1 maintenance release deletes messages for some users
recently rolled out a new maintenance release for its
BlackBerry 10.1 operating system
(10.1.0.4633). Unfortunately, the maintenance release has a nasty flaw in its SMS application. Some users are reporting that after they apply the update their SMS messages are disappearing.
Even more troubling is that fact that some users are reporting that the update destroys all SMS functionality.
After a few days of silence on the matter, Blackberry has posted an official response to its Knowledge Base that confirms the problem. The KB article states:
After an upgrade or update was performed to BlackBerry OS version 10.1.0.4633 it is noticed that all of the SMS and MMS messages have been discarded from the device.
And goes on to add:
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
Obviously, if you haven't applied the 10.1 maintenance release to your BlackBerry device, you should probably hold off until this issue is resolved.

"Umm so what is the Ceo suppose to say?"
Quite simple... "We realize this is and issue and here is what we are going to to to change it".
Everyone and their mother saw this coming 6 years ago RIMM's CEO's did nothing. They didn't change anything, they just said
"our customers don't want that, they want real keyboards"
again and again until their stock hit 1/20th its previous high - 1/20th. Finally, too late in the game they partnered up with QNX (and later bought it). From an already good OS, it took them 3 full years to release a phone. That isn't leadership, it's negligence... But you can think whatever you'd like.

I do give the current CEO a break though. By the time he took over from the previous losers, it was already too late. Oh crap, this ship is sinking... Here, YOU be the captain LOL.
