HTC One Mini will launch in August

The One has been very successful for HTC and is currently available in 181 countries and on over 583 mobile networks around the world. One of the few complaints about the HTC One is that the device is too large to fit comfortably into a pocket and HTC has answered that complaint with the new One Mini.
Features include:
  • 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 Processor
  • 1GB system RAM
  • 4.3" 720p display
  • 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, and an LTE radio
  • 1800 mAh battery
  • 4MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera
  • Android 4.2.2
The HTC one measures 132 x 63.2 x 9.25 mm and weighs 4.3 ounces.

"We are proud to be behind the market's leading smartphone and now, with the addition of the HTC One mini, the best smartphone family in the world," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. "The HTC One mini embodies everything that makes the HTC One a success on a smaller but equally eye-catching scale."

The HTC One Mini is available in glacial silver or stealth black colors. Like its slightly bigger brother, the body of the phone is made from aluminum and the device has a slim profile with tapered edges. HTC’s BoomSound feature gives the device dual front stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier for improved sound quality. The phone also has integrated Beats Audio technology.

The device will launch in select markets in August, confirming previous rumors, and will begin a global rollout in September with pricing unannounced.

Finally a smaller phone that doesn't go back to the 480 x 800 resolution like a lot of the other mini phones tend to do.

Except it's not really much smaller than the full-sized giant: only 5mm smaller in each direction, and still quite a bit taller than comparable 4.3-4.7" phones. By comparison, the S4 mini is 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9 mm versus this "mini's" 132 x 63.2 x 9.3 mm. If you look at a pic showing this thing beside the full-size One, it's barely smaller. I'm in the market for a smaller phone, but unless the price is sensible (unlike the S4m), I wouldn't consider it anymore due to those dimensions.
