So, a QR code that dumps a user on a malicious network which autoattacks using an Android 4.0.4 vuln, and Google responds within ~two weeks by changing how the autoscanning works, rather than patching the Android vuln directly (say with "") or updating the device to run on a more secure, newer version of Android?

The left-behind Android devices with unpatched vulns needs a better way of securing vulns without needed to upgrade to a newer Android version which never comes (for your model).
