It will reportedly be a low-end phone for about $325 USD
Nokia is on the verge of releasing
, but this time, it'll be a low-end model with the largest screen the company has unveiled yet.
Nokia will launch the Lumia 625 in the coming weeks, which is an effort to offer more affordable Windows Phones. The new phone will feature a 4.7-inch screen, which will make it one of the larger Lumia's to date.
The Lumia 625 will also have a a dual-core 1.2GHz S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a 800 x 480 (WVGA) resolution.
It's expected to launch at about $325 USD in a variety colors. However, a solid release date for the U.S. hasn't been announced yet.
It's important for Nokia to release less-expensive models of its Lumia line so that it can reach many different people with different price points.
A lot of the Lumia phones, such as the recently-announced
, are high-end devices that pack a ton of features for a steeper price. For instance, the 1020 -- which will have features like a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core, 2GB DRAM, LTE, NFC and a whopping second generation 41 MP, 1/1.5" sensor with 1.1 micron backside illuminated (BSI) pixels -- will run about $602 USD.

One issue with the 625 is that it is $325 but the Lumia 521 has almost the same specs and is $130.
Both have 512M memory.
521 cpu is 1GHz dual core vs 1.2GHz.
4" screen vs 4.7" but same resolution.
Battery 1430mAh vs 2000mAh
From the pic the 625 might have a front facing camera.
But the #1 problem is the HTC 8X blows this away in specs and runs WinP8 and can be bought now on Amazon for $325.
Disclaimer: My gf has a 521 and does like it. It is a great low end phone. I consider $300 a mid-range and $5-600 an upper end phone.

Nokia seems to be going the way of video card manufacturer naming schemes. IE, nonsensical.
I don't understand what all these model numbers mean or what that means to the bottom line in regards to what kind of phone you're actually walking away with.
In your example, what is supposed to be the signifying difference between a "512" or "625"? And what does 512 or 625 supposed to mean!?

822 has better specs (screen peen aside) and can be had for $100. I don't get the price either.
