Both rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the hybrid are available
Infiniti has announced its latest hybrid vehicle called the Q50 Hybrid will start at $43,950. The hybrid will use a 3.5-liter engine paired with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack to help increase fuel efficiency.
Infiniti promises that the hybrid will be one of the fastest accelerating hybrid engines produced and will still achieve 36 mpg on the highway. The hybrid vehicle will be available in rear wheel drive or with intelligent all-wheel drive.
Some versions of the hybrid vehicle will also be available with the sport appearance package and special performance features such as sport brakes and suspension tuning. Infiniti is also offering a special presale offer that was announced at the New York international auto show back in March and runs through June 30.
The hybrid vehicle will feature Infiniti Direct Adaptive Steering technology, Active Lane Control, and Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The steering system used in the vehicle allows control of tire angle and steering inputs using advanced technology that promises to deliver the drivers intentions of the wheels faster than a mechanical system. The Active Lane Control system uses camera-based lane marker detection systems to help maintain the vehicle in its own Lane.
The Q50 hybrid will also feature the Infiniti InTuition customizable digital environment that links driver settings and driving characteristics to each driver’s Infiniti Intelligent Key.
While the Q50 Hybrid Premium vehicle with rear wheel drive starts at $43,950, a version with all wheel drive will start at $45,750. The Q50S Hybrid with rear wheel drive will start at $46,350 and an all wheel drive version of the Q50S starts at $48,150.
For comparison, the
BMW ActiveHybrid 3
starts at $49,650 and gets 33 mpg on the highway.
