Hell of an Intel snub
6/3/2013 4:09:18 PM
That's one heck of a vote of confidence Samsung have in Intel, isn't it?
No mention of Intel anywhere in the press release, and the tech specs list the CPU as "Dual Core processor".
This does not look to me like Samsung have much faith in Atom; rather it looks like the usual Asian "throw random crap against the wall and see what sticks" model. We'll ship this, and if it sucks, well, tough for the customers who were stupid enough to buy it and in three months we'll release a different version with a different CPU.
You can find the official press release here:
and that web page shows all the elegance and design flair you'd expect from Samsung, with a little something extra --- it's completely broken if you try to increase the font size. How the hell do you even MAKE a web page that's this broken?
