PayPal is looking to eliminate cash registers and wallets to create a digital payment ecosystem in retail
PayPal wants merchants to get rid of their traditional cash registers and opt for its new program: Cash for Registers.
Cash for Registers will reward merchants who decide to trade in their cash register for a solution like
-- which allows payments to be processed on-the-go via an iPad, iPhone or Android device.
What will merchants receive for ditching their cash registers, exactly? PayPal will give them free credit, debit card, check, and PayPal processing for the remainder of the year (as long as they're a qualifying U.S. business).
In addition to free processing, PayPal will spread the word about businesses who participate in Cash for Registers to its 55+ million U.S. (128 million worldwide) customers.
PayPal said it is partnering with ERPLY, ShopKeep, Vend and more in order to launch the service.
While it doesn't launch til next month, businesses can sign up for it

Who will be stupid enough to trust Paypal?

Paypal will not think twice about locking your account. Often times, they won't even give you a reason. Your money which is needed to run your business can be locked in the account for months or even forever.
Whoever trusts Paypal can get their business completely ruined.

I use paypal and have a dedicated account for them.
As soon as money hits it I transfer that money to another account... so lock away paypal.. an account with 0 balance
I lost trust in them when I sent 800 dollars to a person for a car part that literally shipped me bricks in a box. Paypal wouldnt side with me, even though I never actually accepted the package, as long as there was a tracking number, that was good enough for them. Well I did get my money back from my cc in the end, what a bunch of idiots paypal is.
