5.5-inch monster may be getting an upgrade for Sprint

Attractive in its own right, the 5.5-inch Pro has what it takes to go head to head with
Samsung's Galaxy S IV
and HTC Corp.'s (
as well as Nexus 5
, which is expected to launch shortly.
Already on sale in Asia, the Optimus G Pro will enter the American market
on May 10
on AT&T, Inc. (
) (with the code "E980"). The
also believe a Sprint Nextel Corp. (
) launch is impending, via
a product spreadsheet
which lists an "LS980" 1080p LG device.
However, the spreadsheet lists
a Snapdragon 800 processor
from Qualcomm, Inc. (
) rather than the Snapdragon 600 currently available and in the AT&T Optimus G Pro. Thus it's unclear whether this is an immediate pending release (and simply a typo) or an upgraded version of the G Pro due out later this year.
Either way LG's flagship phone should soon be carried by America's second and third largest carrier. LG is also planning on releasing a flexible smartphone during the holiday season.
