Camera features Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity built-in
Panasonic has pulled the wraps it latest Micro 4/3 camera: the DMC-GF6. The camera boasts 16-megapixel resolution Live MOS Sensor paired with the Venus Engine for image processing.
The ISO settings can be extended all the way up to 25,600, and the camera features a Light Speed autofocus system including full-time autofocus and tracking autofocus that is available during video recording. The camera also features a new low-light AF system allowing quick and accurate focusing on subjects even in lowlight conditions.
Other features of the DMC-GF6 include integrated Wi-Fi and NFC technology allowing users to send pictures directly from the camera to smartphones or tablet with a single touch. The Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity also allow users to take advantage of a smartphone or tablet as a remote shutter controller with a monitor.
The DMC-GF6 is able to record full HD resolution video at 60i/50i and supports AVCHD. The maximum record time for movies in AVCHD format is 29 minutes and 59 seconds. The rear display on the camera measures three-inches and is tiltable with 180-degrees travel.
The camera will be offered in black, white, brown, and red colors, and will come with a 14-42mm kit lens. Pricing and availability is not yet known at this time.

So much more interested in the Black Magic Pocket camera. Yes, it's a completely different beast (video recording camera with no stills capability) and uses a smaller sensor than m43, but it fills a niche that Panasonic has neglected (small video camera with RAW video recording). GH3 is too large and bulky for me (as large as APS-C DSLRs) and doesn't record video RAW.
As a consumer stills camera, the GF6 looks to be adequate but in no way exciting. Same sensor as the G5/GX1 which is 1 generation behind the E-M5 and E-PL5, still no 1080p60 (and no mention of 1080p24, even smartphones can do 1080p these days!) and no flash bracket. Granted, this is not meant to be an enthusiast camera, but Panasonic doesn't realize that their competitors haven't been standing still these past 2 years. They're going to have to push much harder to compete against NEX and Fuji-X series, or even their old stable mate, Olympus.
