Would you buy a BlackBerry 10 tablet?
BlackBerry enjoyed some
with its new BlackBerry 10-powered Z10 smartphone. The Canadian-based company is now looking to build its newfound strength with an expanded lineup.
A leaked roadmap shows a wealth of new BlackBerry 10 devices that will be rolling out this year, and the list includes some fresh tablets and phablets. The fact that this list has surfaced so close to April Fool's day means you should have a few grains of salt ready to go.
The photo, which you can see below, shows the [already launched] Z10 followed closely by the launch of the QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10. However, the roadmap shows during the Q3 to Q4 timeframe will be a new BB10 tablet.

The second half of the year will see a device called the U10 that looks to be a phablet similar in concept to
Samsung’s popular Galaxy Note series
. In Q2 of 2014, another device is listed called the R10. Previous rumors have suggested that Sprint will be getting a touchscreen device other than the Z10 at some point. Whether or not that device is one of the items on the supposedly leaked roadmap remains to be seen.
My money says this leaked roadmap is a fake thanks to the combination of timing with April 1 and the fact that it's from an unknown twitter account. What is interesting is if people think there is demand for BlackBerry to actually offer tablets and other devices running BlackBerry 10. Personally, I think with the history of failures that BlackBerry has had, the last thing the company wants to do with its current position being tedious best is launch products before it knows for sure the market wants them.

companies are sooo stupid. Yea, I like a tablet to lay on the couch and surf the web and play stupid games.... but that's it. Once tablets hit a critical mass the desire will die off and demand will weaken. Once people have a tablet it will last them for many years. For these small tasks you don't need the "new".... laptops and PCs are still the bread and butter and that's not changing anytime soon. People who use computers for WORK will NOT being doing their work on a cell phone or tablet. Not happening.

For BB, the tablet is a must in order for them to improve on the productivity of the phone handset. They have to get the software right in order to create synergy rather than cutting features (some fruity company likes to do!) and having users find alternatives. Today, one can count by the fingers what apps are mandatory on a tablet/phone since we use them all the time. From there, how can they extend those to the tablet then to the desktop. In some cases, together!. Few have done all syncrhonized usage across the range. Apple is close but has plenty of flaws and restrictions.
Phablet is a given considering the range of high-end sales and excitement of during the lanuches. Samsung's "floating gestures" are useful for many things and can easily be applied without much cost.
