Pre-orders have already started

When it comes to first person shooters, one of the most popular franchises comes from DICE and EA in the form of Battlefield. The next game in the franchise will be Battlefield 4, and DICE has revealed that the fourth game in the franchise will be a new benchmark in game design and multiple player engagement.

Battlefield 4 will launch in the fall of 2013 using the proprietary Frostbite 3 game engine. The developers promise the game will give players a glimpse into the future of interactive entertainment.

In the single player mode, players will be able to experience huge environments filled with all sorts of destruction along with an arsenal of different vehicles, weapons, and more. In the single player missions, players will be able to direct squad mates and the single player mode will track the player's progress. The game will require players to work with their squad mates in both the single player campaign and multiplayer modes.

"We are so humbled and proud to debut Battlefield 4 on a global stage with simultaneous events in San Francisco and Stockholm. To be this early in development, and to already be so polished is a huge achievement for the DICE team and reflection of their passion and commitment to driving the franchise forward. Today's demo was just the beginning -- we have so much more in store," said Patrick Soderlund, Executive Vice President, EA Games Label.

Players can pre-order Battlefield 4 at participating retail outlets and will perceive the Premium expansion pack at no additional cost with their pre-order. The Digital Deluxe Edition will be available exclusively as a download via Origin.

F that! BF3 is fun as all get out! And there's tons of modes to try out. Quite frankly I think it's an order of magnitude more fun than ALL of the previous BF games. I'll even go so far as saying all the previous one's sucked ass compared to BF3.

The move in shooters to grinding for gear/perks, regenerating health that encourages conservative play, etc etc, really isn't for me. BF1942 was my favorite, partly because the physics were so insanely goofy and fun. There would always be a "Battlefield Moment" thanks to the vehicle physics doing something ridiculous and awesome.

For me the newer games are pretty boring in comparison and have a lower, flattened out skill cap. Its all kind of easier and more boring now, but I understand doing that to capture a larger audience. My head is really stuck in the early 2000s when it comes to shooters. Quake and Quake 3 are still the pinnacles for me, so yeah. :)

Dude that's YOUR opinion. I don't find the play conservative at all and the regenerating health doesn't extend alive time for me. Probably 1% in my gameplay. Maybe you need to stop playing on newb servers and play with some skilled people. Have you played CG or Gun Master? Are you telling me that's slow or conservative? I question that you've actually played the game.

That's why I said "really isn't for me". Of course its my opinion. I prefer faster shooters, simple. BF1942 had big gaps in action as well but the fun of the physics engine, sea battles, etc etc, more than made up for it.

I've played those modes you mentioned, and I greatly prefer more old school shooters. The most fun I had at a LAN last year wasn't BF3 or CoD, it was good old Quake 3 and DOOM. I like speed.

Why are you so defensive about BF3? Not everyone is going to share your love for modern shooters, no big deal.

I'm not insulting the people who play it, I'm saying why the game isn't for me.

That's probably cause for you Battlefield should look like COD, we the old guard want battlefield to look like battlefield, Regen, unlimited ammo and other pieces of crap made BF3 a lot less strategic than the previous versions...

Anyways with the BF4 video you should rejoice yourself BF4 will be just another COD like game just like you want...
