Samsung and LG have recently been embroiled in a patent lawsuit in South Korea. LG filed a suit against Samsung seeking 10 billion won over alleged false advertising. Samsung has now filed a countersuit against LG seeking 50 billion won or about $45 million.
The Samsung lawsuit was filed with the Seoul Southern District Court on Friday.
LG originally sued Samsung over its "Inconvenient Truth About Refrigerator Capacity” advertising campaign comparing its refrigerators to models from Samsung. After the Samsung advertisement ran, LG released online advertisements condemning Samsung.
