Google Fiber Expands Within Kansas

Google Fiber expands its footprint within Kansas
its Google Fiber Internet service in Kansas City, Kansas last year. The incredibly fast internet service has proven to be popular with residents in the area and with
looking to launch services that need superfast connectivity.
Google announced this week that it has now made plans to extend its internet service to the suburban town of Olathe, which has roughly 125,000 residents.
Installing the service in the new city marks the first major expansion of Google Fiber outside of Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. Before Google Fiber could launch within Olathe city limits, the city Council had to approve the proposal by Google (the city of course approved the decision).
"Hopefully, this is the first of several announcements that we'll be able to make about bringing Google Fiber to additional cities in the KC metro area; so stay tuned," wrote Rachel Hack, a Google Fiber community manager, on the company's fiber blog.
Google Fiber cost residents in Kansas City $120 a month for high-speed internet and TV service. People who only want the high-speed internet pay $70 per month. Within Kansas City, Google also offers a free internet service with 5 Mb/s connectivity for a one-time $300 fee.
