New leaked images claim to be an engineering prototype
Considering that tonight is the big day for the
official unveil the Samsung Galaxy S IV
, we will know all the official details in short order. However, that hasn't stopped a myriad of
and specifications of the device from hitting the web this week. More images that claim to be of the device had turned up, this time out China.
The device pictured is supposedly an engineering prototype. We'll have to wait a few more hours and see if the actual device unveiled by Samsung looks anything like these leaked images that have been turning up over the last few weeks.

to each his own... i have always felt that HTCs look cheap and amateurish. samsungs, for the most part, look a bit uninspiring, but they're well-made. the best designs, imho, are by sony and LG.
one other thing: my girlfriend has an HTC (inspire, i think), with an aluminium back. while there is an opening there for a memory card, the battery cannot be replaced, which is annoying. i bought a spare battery on amazon for 12 bucks (for my galaxy s2x), and just swap it in when the need arises. so a plastic back is an advantage, as long as the chassis is designed solidly.

Just because it's metal doesn't mean it can't have a replaceable battery.
I have an old Nokia that has a completely metal back

No, what they want you to do is, when your lithium battery dies (And it will die, they all do!) they want you to send it back so you are enticed to upgrade or spend money on fixing it.
All good business of course, sucks for the consumer though.

My original Galaxy S had an all metal back and I could open it and replace the battery. My current Infuse has a plastic back that is actually much nicer then my original Galaxy S and I have the Galaxy Note II on it's way with it's plastic back that I really like. So I guess it's all a matter of personal opinion.
