Meeting to focus on rebuffing Chinese national security threat, as well as other issues
quite a bit
of back-and-forth noise
between President Obama's staff and top officials in the Chinese government
. The U.S. in the midst of a
major push to upgrade
its cyberoffensive and defensive capabilities; plus the President just
signed a new executive order
encouraging companies to voluntarily share information on security threats with the government.
In order to try to court top business leaders to cooperate with the new information sharing initiative, President Obama
will meet today
in The White House Situation Room with top CEOs in the tech industry to discuss "how the government and private sector can best work together to improve the nation’s cybersecurity."
A guest list for the closed door event was not announced in advance. Details on the meeting and who attended should trickle out by tomorrow.
Congress is currently
debating cybersecurity legislation
, but the efforts have stalled amid the larger fiscal sequestration debate.

Need the right tool for the job.....

I hope its not just all CEO's at this meeting, because most CEO's don't know crap about IT security. Its the guys doing the actual work that do.....or today's hackers.
Best meeting they could have is to invite convicted US hackers to sit in and tell them how it really is.
Most likely this is just going to be a dog and pony show for media news.
