French court says no working nights for Apple employees
The High Court of Paris handed down a €10,000 fine and a ban and this week preventing Apple employees from working during the night at seven Apple stores within France. The ban prevents Apple from making retail employees work between the hours of 9 PM until 6 AM the following morning. The court also instituted a penalty of €50,000 per provisional infringement if Apple has employees working between those hours.
"This decision is very good and reflects the desire of Justice to enforce the night work", welcomed Eric Scherrer, CFTC trade employees, which emphasizes "a severe sentence."
"We just ask that the law is respected," Thomas responded in turn Bordage SUD trade, which explains that "the shops close at 2100, but the time for employees to put everything in order and work in workshops some may work until 11:00 p.m. ".
Under French law, working at night between the hours of 9 PM and 6 AM needs to be justified to ensure the continuity of economic activity or social utility to be legal.
The stores covered in the judgment include those located in Opéra in Paris Velizy 2 (Velizy-Villacoublay, Yvelines), Parly 2 (The Chesnay, Yvelines), Carré Sénart (Lieusaint, Seine-et-Marne), Val d'Europe (Marne-la-Vallee, Seine-et-Marne), Cape Town 3000 (Nice, Alpes-Maritimes) and Atlantis (Saint Herblain, Loire-Atlantique).

Amazing that all the Pro business working class, working poor Americans, who cannot feed their hungry, have banks screwing them over left and right and whose tax dollars went to bail these shysters out, still cannot get 1/2 decent health care at a reasonable rate, have a Congress, Senate and White House that are at the beck and call of corporate America and their lobbyists, have major issues with oil and gas exploration companies turning vast pieces of their country into polluted wastelands, are just now wondering if the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were such a good idea, and question if their great, great, great, great grand-kids are ever going to be clear of the debt that shouldn't have happened in the first place, have a gridlocked government because one side at least feels some compunction for the people that voted them in, but the other side would rather see the country fail and it's economy burn to the ground before they would give in to a black president...just on principal of course.
But oh please lets hear it about how screwed up France and it's people are for actually having a law in place to help prevent their people from being taken advantage of by overbearing "screw the rules", patent troll companies like Apple.
And Americans wonder why their country has gone to hell in a hand basket. You know why, because you let the corporations, run your country, and tell you what to do, and that's the way you like it. And you think the French are nuts....Hahaha. Priceless.
“Then they pop up and say ‘Hello, surprise! Give us your money or we will shut you down!' Screw them. Seriously, screw them. You can quote me on that.” -- Newegg Chief Legal Officer Lee Cheng referencing patent trolls
