More Galaxy S IV details leak

Samsung will be officially unveiling the new Galaxy S IV this Thursday. However, that's not stopping new images and details from leaking about the device ahead of the official unveil. New photos have turned up from China show a device that doesn’t mirror the design of previously leaked images.

However, the screenshots from the new leaked photos show that this device has hardware that matches up with previous leaks. This has led some to believe that this could be a prototype device used for carrier testing to protect the final design of the smartphone in the case of a leak (such as this one).

The screenshots show that the device is running Android 4.2.1 and has a full HD resolution 1080p display. The screenshots also show a 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

The device in these new images is supposedly a dual-SIM version of the S IV destined for China Unicom.

So many people making a ruckus that the Samsung galxaxy is too thin, made of plastic(hence light), and may not do well in a straight drop test against concrete with no protection. But if you ask me everyone will put a case on it anyways.

So I rather it be thin and light, since it'll have some added bulk later with a case. People forget, before the iphone5, it wasn't nearly as good on a "real world" drop test, though the iphone4/s was made of aluminum and was thicker and felt "tough"... you would still have to put on a protective case, which made the thicker iphone, even more thicker! How many people I knew with iphone 3G/s and iphone 4G/s's that had cracked screens from drops.. only to learn their lesson and buy a protective case to add even more bulk.

My point is, better it be thinner and lighter to later be put in an ultra strong case to protect your investment...rather be in a bigger, heavier form factor that 'feels' nice, but only gives you mediocre protection, which will inevitably lead you to still get a case anyways.
