McLaren Offers Full Details on P1 Hybrid Supercar

If you ever needed a reason to strive for higher education or winning the lottery, the McLaren P1 is it. McLaren Automotive has gone official offering up all the details on its latest supercar, and the beast is impressive. McLaren promises that the P1 will hit 186 mph in less than 17 seconds, making it 23% faster than the legendary F1. The car has an electronically limited top speed of "only" 217 mph.
The automaker also notes that the production version of the P1 is virtually unchanged from the original design study. As you can imagine with any supercar, this beast is exceptionally far from affordable. McLaren says pricing will start at £866,000.
We have already
talked a bit
about the P1 in the past so you should already know that the car has a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 and the electric motor/battery system for a combined for 903 BHP. The Instant Power Assist System is a race-inspired technology that adds an additional power to help acceleration allowing the P1 to reach 62 mph in under 3 seconds. The car will eclipse 124 mph in less than 7 seconds. McLaren says that in electric-only mode, the vehicle can operate up to 30 mph with a range of 12 miles.
McLaren also promises that the P1 has the suspension and braking capability for the racetrack with braking performance on par with a GT3 sports racing car.
McLaren notes that it will only produce 375 of these vehicles to keep them rare. There are a number of color and trim alternatives that the customer can choose from including visible carbon fiber in the cabin. McLaren also points out that the car is completely customizable (depending on how big your wallet is) via McLaren Special Operations.

hey nortel, go ahead and pat yourself on the back for having an opinion. imperial distance measurements are not indicative of intelligence or inferiority. if anything, one could soundly argue that a greater intelligence is required to use imperial measurements (for pretty obvious reasons might i add).
adding to that, in building construction, 1/16" is more precise than 1mm as a physically measurable distance. so in construction, imperial is indeed superior for design accuracy. i've done design for metric and imperial building structures and metric leaves way more slop that you have to deal with during the setup process. to be frank, metric sucks for construction.
but you want to know the real truth? at the end of the day, either method of measurement works for its intended purpose and it's about what people are comfortable with. the only retard would be the person who is stupid enough to think one is better than the other. i guess that makes you the retard.

Are you stupid or stupid, if mm is not precise enough use um, if um are not enough use nm... now tell me how many inches is 1um ? I can easily say 22 microns now go ahead and tell the same measurement in inches... I would be damn surprise if I heard someone using the imperial system say 0.00086614in when speaking for instance of CPU process.
Anyways when doing CAD/CAO you use decimals NOT fractions, specially not when working with thing that require some precision.
Do you guys even realize that inches, feet and miles are all used to measure distances?...
The truth is that it's much easier to have one single unit for measuring distance than at least 3...
