Android tablet from HP may be shown off at Mobile World Congress
Computer giant HP is looking to expand its horizons in the technology world. A new report suggests that the company will attempt to offer its own line of mobile products based on the Google Android operating system.
The first Android device offered by HP will be a high-end tablet using the NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip. NVIDIA claimed that the
was the world's fastest mobile processor during CES 2013.
HP hasn't gone official with the tablet yet, but sources indicate that the official announcement could come soon.
Other claims made by the sources include a little tidbit that HP is currently exploring the option of launching an Android-powered smartphone. HP's own CEO, Meg Whitman, has
stated in the past
that her company needs to offer a smartphone.
“We have to ultimately offer a smartphone because in many countries of the world that would be your first computing device,” said Whitman in September 2012. “There will be countries around the world where people may never own a tablet or a pc or a desktop. They will do everything on a smartphone… we have to take advantage of that form-factor.”
The smartphone reportedly won’t be coming out this year, but any further delay in getting out a credible entry into the cutthroat smartphone market can’t be good for HP. Even a well-respected company like BlackBerry still faces an uphill battle with its “re-entry” into smartphone relevance with

they don't care enough about the consumer

HP just doesn't care enough to build quality anything. Margin dollars are their friend, not the customer.

Bull. Great monitors, very good printers, very good laptops. I've worked with many HP products over the years, a few were dogs, but only a few.
And yes, a company needs to turn a profit, or they don't remain in business. Unless they are propped up by government. They they can be as inefficient as the local DMV.

Most blow except the "pro" ones. You can tell which are pro based on build quality.
very good printers
Their printers suck. Use a brother printer and get back to me.
very good laptops
Unless you're using the Elite series which are built like a tank, the regular non-special order products suck. Keep in mind that Compaq is also included as it is also HP.
