New modular power supplies for computer enthusiasts
OCZ Technology has announced the addition of the new Silencer Mk III power supply that is available in both 750 W and 850 W models. The company says both of the power supplies meet the 80+ Gold certification for energy efficiency.
Both versions of the power supply promise over 90% efficiency with typical workloads. The PSUs also feature OCZ’s Dual Thermal Control System that allows the power supply to switch between normal and silent operation modes. The power supply works in conjunction with load and temperature controlled fans for the quietest operation possible.
The power supplies use a single +12V rail, premium components including 100% Japanese 105°C capacitors, protection circuits, and more. The high-end components allow the power supply to provide continuous stable output at 50°C ambient temperature. The power supply also uses a modular cable design allowing users to only plug-in the cables needed.
Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
