RIM gets ready for launch BlackBerry 10
RIM has been selling apps to BlackBerry smartphone users for long time now via its BlackBerry App World. The company has announced that as part of the preparations for the launch of BlackBerry 10 it has changed the name of BlackBerry App World to BlackBerry World. RIM says that the name change reflects a shift in the type of things that you can purchase from the store.
RIM says that BlackBerry World will have more than just apps for users to purchase -- the new store will also be home to purchasable videos and music. The new name reflects the fact that RIM wants BlackBerry World to be a one-stop shop for the entertainment needs of BlackBerry smartphone and tablet users.
BlackBerry World will support the ability to browse, download, buy, and manage apps via BlackBerry smartphones, the PlayBook tablet, and computers. BlackBerry World will allow users to share their favorite content via BlackBerry messenger, Facebook, and Twitter.
BlackBerry World also supports sharing by tapping NFC embedded BlackBerry smartphones together.
