RIM gets ready for launch BlackBerry 10

RIM has been selling apps to BlackBerry smartphone users for long time now via its BlackBerry App World. The company has announced that as part of the preparations for the launch of BlackBerry 10 it has changed the name of BlackBerry App World to BlackBerry World. RIM says that the name change reflects a shift in the type of things that you can purchase from the store.

RIM says that BlackBerry World will have more than just apps for users to purchase -- the new store will also be home to purchasable videos and music. The new name reflects the fact that RIM wants BlackBerry World to be a one-stop shop for the entertainment needs of BlackBerry smartphone and tablet users.

BlackBerry World will support the ability to browse, download, buy, and manage apps via BlackBerry smartphones, the PlayBook tablet, and computers. BlackBerry World will allow users to share their favorite content via BlackBerry messenger, Facebook, and Twitter.

BlackBerry World also supports sharing by tapping NFC embedded BlackBerry smartphones together.

just last night i marveled at the unparalleled quality of PowerVR graphics (tile-based rendering, with perfect AA!), while talking to my seaman. true story, bro.

It's funny you say that. Just recently I learned that after PowerVR got dominated by 3DFX and Nvidia and dropped off the face of the Earth they went underground and re-emerged as a powerhouse in the mobile field. They're pulling off what ARM did.

It became the graphics core in chips like Apple's A4 and used in iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs. It's also used in a whole bunch of other mobile devices like the Samsung Galaxy series of products. It's also used in Sony Bravia TVs and the Playstation Vita.

It might turn out that PowerVR and their tile-based approach conquers the market.

yes, i know. 100% rendering efficiency because of their perfect pre-rendering occlusion culling. i really did like my dreamcast... too bad it failed.

sometimes i search ebay for cheap naomi boards and dream of building my own arcade in the basement lol
