"I don't care about these technology pets they have."

It's no fun being Wayne Dobson. Dobson isn't famous; he is a normal guy who lives in a home in northern Las Vegas. The problem is that a glitch with wireless carrier Sprint in the area sends a lot of people that use an app to find their lost smartphone to his front door.

According to the 59-year-old man, over the past two years, he has had multiple people show up at his door at all hours of the day and night demanding that he return their lost phone.

"It's very difficult to say, 'I don't have your phone,' in any other way other than, 'I don't have your phone,'" Dobson said.

The police have been sent to Dobson's home twice by mistake on domestic violence calls. The problem has become so persistent that Dobson has posted signs on the front door telling people he doesn't have their phone and to call the police.

The issue that keeps sending people to Dobson's door appears to be limited to some owners of Sprint mobile phones. Sprint officials have said they are researching the problem at this time.

"It's a hell of a problem," Dobson said. "It would be nice to be able to get a good night's sleep."

Dobson said the first time this happened was in 2011 at around midnight on weekend with an upset couple banging on his door demanding their phone back. Dobson and the couple ended up calling the police.

Dobson told the police, "I just said, 'I don't know these people; I don't go where they go.' I'm 59 years old. I don't care about these technology pets they have."

And you would likely find yourself in jail. Life is not a movie.

OR you would likely find yourself and your children alive.

In a suburb of Atlanta last week, a women and her children were met with a pounding on their door, too. They did not answer it, but retreated to a closet with a crawl space... and with a gun. The perp saw them flee, and continued pounding louder and louder, and then broke the door down. He ransacked he house and continued to search for the occupants. When he discovered them, upstairs in a closet, he was met with a face full of .38 bullets.

So while you (those who can't see the purpose in coming to the door with a gun) live in a nice area and judge the rest of the world from your little space (and support stupid laws based on your experience), others are not so fortunate or trusting. Sometimes that knock at the door is danger, and the only thing that is going to deter it is a gun with a hi capacity magazine.

If she had sliced his arm off with a japanese katana that home invasion would have ended even quicker.

Why, because she and her kids would have been killed faster than it took her to kill the intruder? There is a saying about bringing a knife (even a big one) to a gun fight - doesn't usually end well for the person with the knife (or katana!). It is much easier to be proficient with a firearm than a katana.

While I don't own any firearms (probably never will), I understand others wanting to keep the right to protect themselves. Had they never been legal, then so be it, but there is no way to close the box once you open it. Even if you made all guns illegal tomorrow, anybody that wanted a gun could have one.

A high-capactiy magazine is good for killing many people in a short amount of time. A small capacity magazine is good for protection against home invaders.

Now, I hear these stories, and I hear these anecdotes, where a family benefited by having a gun in the home.

I ALSO hear that the NRA has fought tooth and nail against studies to determine how much gun ownership helps people vs how much it harms. That's because they know it paints a bleak picture for them.

3 home invaders. Would you rather have 6 rounds or 16? The woman I mentioned earlier had 6 rounds in a revolver. She used all 6 and did not kill the invader (left him crying face down for police to find). If there had been even one more perp, she and her children would have been in serious trouble.

There is a good case for hi cap pistol magazines.
