Samsung brags on Galaxy S series sales success
Samsung officially announced today that its Galaxy S series of smartphones has passed 100 million units in cumulative sales. The sales figure includes the original Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II, and the Galaxy S III. Samsung also offered details on how each of the smartphones in the series adding to the overall milestone.
The Galaxy S launched in June of 2010 and sold 24 million units globally. Samsung says that 10 million of those units were sold in the first seven months after launch. The Galaxy S II launched in April 2011 and has sold 40 million units globally. Ten million of those units came the first five months after the smartphone launched.
The Galaxy S III launched in May of 2012 and has sold 40 million units globally -- 20 million of those sales came within 100 days of the smartphone's launch.
