ASUS has announced a tablet/All-in-One (AiO) hybrid device based on its popular Transformer line.
The ASUS Transformer AiO combines the qualities of a tablet and an AiO PC. Users can use it as a portable tablet, and then simply click it into the base station to transform into an AiO.
The Transformer AiO features an 18.4-inch, 10-point touch LED-backlit IPS display, a 3rd generation Intel Core processor, a NVIDIA Tegra quad-core processor for use as an Android tablet and ASUS SonicMaster technology for clear audio.
The ASUS Transformer AiO can also switch between the Windows 8 operating system and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. In Android mode, the "display" can be removed from the base and used a standalone tablet. It can also be used in tablet mode while running Windows 8, however, it has to be within 30 feet or so of the base to communicate via Wi-Fi Direct.
Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
