ASUS has announced a tablet/All-in-One (AiO) hybrid device based on its popular
The ASUS Transformer AiO combines the qualities of a tablet and an AiO PC. Users can use it as a portable tablet, and then simply click it into the base station to transform into an AiO.
The Transformer AiO features an 18.4-inch, 10-point touch LED-backlit IPS display, a 3rd generation Intel Core processor, a NVIDIA Tegra quad-core processor for use as an Android tablet and ASUS SonicMaster technology for clear audio.
AiO can also switch between the
operating system and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. In Android mode, the "display" can be removed from the base and used a standalone tablet. It can also be used in tablet mode while running Windows 8, however, it has to be within 30 feet or so of the base to communicate via Wi-Fi Direct.
Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.

so the arm procesor and android is only in tablet mode, and win 8 and intel procesor is only available while docked... that's like 2 devices sharing what? a memory card?

OK, this Frankenstein makes no sense to me, either. Undock, and you're Android, dock and you're Win 8.
It would make better sense to have the huge 10 tablet be win 8 pro with a decent sized SSD with the dock being a traditional style peripheral/charging station type dock with (better than HD Graphics 4000, extra HD/RAM, optical drive and wired network.
Easiest way to take you're work with you is to have compatible devices.

Its an uber-giant version of the Padfone from two years ago:
At least they're trying new things, goofy as they may be. Switching between Windows and Android is a bit strange though, it should be WinRT in tablet mode and Windows 8 when docked, not this Miracast business.
