Lenovo to provide options for cellular broadband connectivity
Lenovo is now offering options to add wireless broadband
connectivity rate plans on ThinkPad T60 notebooks over EDGE and
BroadbandConnect networks.
Lenovo ThinkPad T60's will be available, though we're not sure when, with the
option to add wireless WAN connectivity with Cingular
Data Connect plans starting at $59.99 a month. The configuration
page for the T60, however, only shows the Verizon Wireless V620 Wireless
WAN Card option with no mention of Cingular.
If you remember anything from 2005, Lenovo got together with Verizon Wireless
to integrate
Verizon's Wireless WAN connectivity over the EV-DO network in some of its
notebooks. Until now it looked like an exclusive contract between the two but
the T60 product page currently shows different. Could this be the end of
Verizon+Lenovo for now or the beginning of a new triangle of wireless broadband
love?
