The phone will be sold in the U.S. and Europe
It's very rare that you see someone using a mobile phone that isn't
, but these high-tech mobile devices aren't for everyone.
That's why Fujitsu Ltd. is looking to sell a smartphone that is easy to use in the United States and Europe, and it's especially made for senior citizens.
The phone, called "Raku-Raku Smartphone," has features such as larger letters, higher volume and display images that are easier to see. These are meant to appeal to elderly U.S. and European citizens.
Why the U.S. and Europe specifically? Fukitsu said
have already taken over the smartphone market in these areas, and that it doesn't have the money to market a brand the way those two have. However, it did see an opportunity to market a smartphone to the elderly (which Apple and Samsung have not done yet).
Also, Fujitsu is looking to sell devices in areas other than Japan to increase sales.

Except most older people would never spend that much on a mobile phone. They generally see a cell phone as something for emergencies at maybe $100 a year, not the $100+ a month a an iPhone costs.
