The NFL will streamline Super Bowl and other postseason games in 2013
The NFL has announced that it plans to Stream Super Bowl XLVII online and via NFL Mobile from Verizon. The Super Bowl will be live streamed with CBS and other major postseason games will be streamed with NBC.
Along with streaming games, extra features including different camera angles, in-game highlights, live statistics, and other interactive elements will be available to viewers.
Last year's Super Bowl marked the first time the NFL ever live streamed the biggest game of the year. That first live stream of the Super Bowl attracted 2.1 million users online making it the most-watched single-game sports event to ever be aired online.

Very true, and it's bigger than just Comcast. All video services (Cable, Satellite) are seeing declines in viewership thanks to internet digital video. Assuming you're in an area that offers decent internet speeds and no data caps, this is clearly the smarter way to go.
But to answer the "can't stream White Sox and Cubs games in Chi-town" problem you're having: That's a media blackout. It has to do with the tricky world of exclusive rights to broadcasting a team. Check it:
