Users report issues across a wide range of vehicles
Windows Phone 8, Microsoft Corp.'s (
) latest and greates mobile operating system
launched last month
. In the last couple weeks as the
first devices have become available
there have been growing
reports of serious bugs
The latest issues reported have been problems with the phone's Bluetooth connectivity. According to
seven pages of user complaints
, the new phones are failing to connect across a wide range of makes and models from various automakers. Calls over Bluetooth have also been getting dropped or put on hold.
Some users report having successfully used Windows Phone 7.5 devices with their vehicles for months, only to lose support when they upgraded.
So far there's been no word from Microsoft on when a fix may arrive.
In our last piece on Windows Phone 8 bugs, some commenters took issue with our reporting on the problems, arguing they weren't widespread. DamianRobertJones comments:
I call 'rubbish' on this article.
There are issues, sure, but as far as I can see/am aware it's not serious... yet
And Varun responds:
I agree 100% and this thread seems to point to some very happy people:
Let us know what you think -- should we not cover these issues? Do you consider them a serious problem? Would it be unfair to cover the iPhone 5's
battery life/wallet-draining data bug
, but not report on Windows Phone 8 bugs? Or does Microsoft deserve some slack since it's still trying to emerge as a serious competitor?
Have you been affected? Let us know your thoughts, we're listening.

Government subsidized phones have been available for decades upon decades, before Cell phones existed. Today, cell phones are cheaper than land-lines, so the government subsidizes them, instead.
How do you expect someone who's unemployed and broke to get a job if they don't have a phone number to be contacted at?
Ever heard of a phone interview? I've had more of those than in-person interviews in my lifetime, often more than one for the same position.
What about emergencies? Are you saying just because you are poor or disabled and unable to work you don't have the right to be able to dial 911?
You radical-righties are ridiculous. It's like a mix of anarchy, racism, gross misunderstanding of society and hate all mixed into the same bag, and you justify it by pointing to the constitution, a document you probably haven't even read, nor understand.
“Then they pop up and say ‘Hello, surprise! Give us your money or we will shut you down!' Screw them. Seriously, screw them. You can quote me on that.” -- Newegg Chief Legal Officer Lee Cheng referencing patent trolls
