Microsoft/Nokia/AT&T are going for the throat with Lumia 920 pricing

Is $99 for the Nokia Lumia 920 cheap enough to make you switch to Windows Phone 8?

Oh, the tired, cliche of "not enough apps." Really? Like what? Instagram is the only major app out there that doesn't have a counterpart in Windows Phone. Every other major app is there or coming shortly.

Yes, iOS will get the eclectic apps more frequently, but the vast majority of users are NOT power users such as you. They're people like my mother who will download an app because someone tells her about it, it'll be related to page 9 because she doesn't know how to use folders, and then she'll forget about it 3 days later. Throw in the fact that the majority of apps are just gateways to a website and, if you're really honest with yourself, will realize that the whole "App" thing is really not that important to a mobile phone.

You want to it make calls, email, take pictures, listen to music, watch videos, text message, show you the weather, be an alarm clock, be a flashlight, be a GPS, and cruise the web. Fact is that every single major platform does this.

I'm not a power user. Why not? Because I bought a Windows phone. If I had bought either an iPhone or an Android, I could use Blogger and Jango, to name two off the top.

Coming shortly? I don't think so. I hope I'm wrong.

No, you're not a power user. Hell, I'm a power user, I've got my 4S jailbroken and tweaked as hell. I also write software for a living and I have no clue what Blogger or Jango are.

After searching, it appears you have many high quality alternatives to Jango e.g. Pandora and Last.FM so that's a pointless issue. Blogger is, as I suspected, what would be considered a power user. Fact of the matter is that MOST people don't blog, largely because its' a waste of time unless you're making money on it, but I digress.

Blogger is one of Google's biggest assets. Pandora only serves the US. Last.FM's site sucked the last time I was there. Jango is the only decent international online self-programmable radio service.

In any case, I was speaking about how the Windows phone sucks. Why don't you get one and find out what I'm talking about?

As to blogging being a waste of time: a thing's value isn't always about money. A blog can be used as an easy way to publish interests without any cost. It's a good exercise. Wasting time is like drinking tea: everyone has their own cup.
