Holy Cow! That's cheap!

Last month, Best Buy jumped the gun a bit with pricing for the new Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 device. At the time, the electronics retailer listed pricing for the smartphone at $149 with a new two-year contract.
 
However, AT&T has just officially opened up the pre-order lines for the Lumia 920, and it's only charging $99 with a two-year contract. Its lowly Lumia 820 sibling will be available for $49 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders begin tomorrow.

 
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has already stated he expects that Windows Phone 8 sales and market share would “ramp quickly”, and this bargain basement pricing may be just the ticket to get some traction in the competitive smartphone market.
 
So what do you guys think? Is $99 for a flagship phone enough to get you to switch from iOS or Android to Windows Phone 8?

Bargain pricing isn't going to have someone switch from iOS or Android unless they are running on an older handset and price has been the reason why they haven't purchased a newer one. The bargain pricing will allow new users that wouldn't have purchased a smart phone due to pricing into this market. However the extra cost of the data plan for a smart phone might still keep many users away. Because of this I don't see Microsoft competing for market dominance against Android or iOS in the near future.

If this was offered on Sprint it would get me to switch in a heartbeat but I cant change carriers because the rest of my family lines are on contract.

Android already has done enough to frustrate me and entice me to look elsewhere and I'd see hell freeze over before I bought anything made by Apple.

My point isn't the same. People might switch for OS features that they want or disliking a brand, however pricing won't be the deciding factor especially since the iPhone 4 8GB is 99 cents on AT&T. There are plenty of people who love Android or iOS I don't foresee those people switching because of price. Those people who are displeased might choose one of the other options available before looking at WP8. You are in a very select number of people who don't like either option available and WP8 looks better.

BTW. I use WP7 and I made the change due to integration issues with both Android and iOS. I don't foresee a majority of smart phone users ditching their phones until after WP8 has been out for a while.

You guys are really overestimating OS loyalty. People switch all the time. I've switched twice.
