UK judges to Apple: "Not good enough!"

Last week, Apple posted a notice on its UK website which indicated that Samsung didn't copy the iPad when it designed the Galaxy Tab family of tablets. Of course, Apple didn't do this out of the kindness of its heart -- it was ordered to do so by a UK court.

In keeping with Apple’s typical demeanor towards its competitors, the notice posted on its website was rather flippant and pointed to how the Samsung tablets weren’t deemed to be as “cool” as the iPad. Apple also pointed out in its notice that it had won judgments against Samsung in both German and U.S. courts.

It appears, however, that UK judges weren't amused by Apple's play on words, and called the Cupertino, California-based company's statements "incorrect" and "untrue".

According to Bloomberg News, the U.K. Court of Appeal in London has ordered Apple to remove the notice from its website within 24 hours to correct the inaccuracies. It also has to post a new, revised version within 48 hours.

“I’m at a loss that a company such as Apple would do this,” said a puzzled Judge Robin Jacob. “That is a plain breach of the order.”

One of Samsung's lawyers, Henry Carr, piled on by starting that Apple's original notice left the “impression that the U.K. court is out of step with other courts” by mentioning the judgments in Apple's favor by German and U.S. courts.

Wow

Well you may think so but I guess the judges don't think that now do they. The first statement by Apple was so far off base that it did not even come close to what they were supposed to post on their site. Speaking of their site they were also supposed to put it on the front page not some little link at the bottom of the page that no one can find. I do not hate Apple products nor fear them in any way. What I do hate is their way of doing business which is dirty & under handed.

They say other companies steal their ideas when in fact they have been caught doing the same thing to other companies but people like you will still defend them by saying stuff like owe they took another companies idea & put some sparkles on it & now it is a cooler product & that is ok for them to do that. But when another company tries the same thing you will say how wrong it is for the other company to try to emulate as you put it an Apple product in some way. So if you say it is ok for Apple to do this why is it not ok for other companies to do it? It sounds like you believe in double standards.

BY the way I owned an iphone 2 years before Apple even released their first iphone. Apple knew the name was already taken but they wanted it & took it anyway. What about the clock in ios 6 they would have known what they were doing but hoped that it would just go away & no one would notice. But then they sue a company for what they say sue samsung for things like coping a shape of a phone & some icons & other prior art stuff but you say that is ok. Like I said people like you seem to like the double standard way of thinking.

Apple seems to think they can do what ever they want to other companies but if these same companies fight back & do the same thing then Apple get upset & cries bloody murder. What is up with that? If Apple can take other companies ideas put some spin on it then why can't other companies do the same thing.

By the way if you choose to comment on this do not try to take parts of what was wrote here & put it out of context to try to make people think your smarter than you actually are. Like I said I do not hate or fear Apple I just wish they would actually be the company they try to hype themselves up to be & be a competitive company in the industry & leave the lawyers at home.

You guys really care about this don't you? it really matters that a judge in the UK smacked Apple's hand and made them a change something on their web site, something that only people like you will read or care about. Nobody else cares, nobody. I don't care, the millions who buy Apple kit don't care, the millions who don't buy Apple kit also don't care. The only people who care are people like [you] who are desperate to have their cult like Apple phobia validated.

Lets see....

Tony Swash doesn't really care... Nope, wrong again.

Ignore Tony. He's pissed off because he just found out Microsoft sold 4 million upgrade versions of Windows 8 in the first 3 days, and have already sold tens of millions of copies to corporate customers (according to Ballmer at least). An estimated 400 million PCs are to be sold in 2013.

If Windows 8 is on even half of those PCs, I'm sure we have a flop on our hands ;)

Apple cares for sure. Otherwise they would comply with order and be done with it.

Tony 101

People only "care" when a ruling goes positive for Apple. Then it's highly relevant. When it goes against Apple, it's nothing, not an issue.

Features are only important when Apple implements them. When others copy from Apple its bad. When Apple copies from others (which is most of their product lines) its the "right feature at the right time"

Apple, Apple, where for art thou Apple? What light through yonder window breaks... It is Apple. Apple Apple Apple. And then Apple Apple.

At any rate, 'Care' or 'Don't Care', it will not have any impact on the sales of Apple products. So in that case, if there is no impact, who the f_uck cares!

Though no one reading this forum is surprised with that comment, it is an excellent example of your irrational thinking. You are ready to even accept Apple as being above the law of your own country. To anyone with at least some objectivity, that posting was a clear contempt of court.

Honestly is there anything they could do that you would consider wrong?
