Rockstar games said its coming sometime this fall

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," Rockstar Games is releasing a mobile version of the game later this fall.

According to Rockstar Games, a mobile version of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" will soon launch for iOS and Android devices, but the game maker didn't give an exact release date.

"'Grand Theft Auto:Vice City' gave players the freedom of a massive open-world in one of the most iconic and vibrant settings ever realized in a game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "It was a defining moment in the series and we're delighted to be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a stunning, updated version for phones and tablets."

The "Grand Theft Auto" series first launced in 1997, and its latest release was "Grand Theft Auto III" for iOS and Android in December 2011.

Back in April, Rockstar Games also released "Max Payne Mobile" for iOS and some Android devices.

The same WP apologists (you know who you are) will spin this the same way they have been, but this is yet another major release for iOS and Android that Windows Phone users can just forget about apparently.

Well this is more of a tablet thing, right? I mean I wouldn't want to play this on a phone. And Windows has every GTA.

i would have agreed with you upto a few days ago when i paired a ps3 controller with my note 2 and played dead trigger without stupid on screen controls. it plays really really well and GTA3 on android supports a controller too.

if vice city supports a controller on android (i think it will) then i'll buy it. there are worse ways to waste an hour on a train going to work than shooting people and stealing cars and stuff in vice city :D

Windows Phone 8 also will support gaming middleware such as Havok Vision Engine, Autodesk Scaleform, Audiokinetic Wwise, and Firelight FMOD, as well as native DirectX-based game development.

All of this means that developers won't have to spend a bunch of time re-writing code and can, instead, quickly port PC games to Windows phones.

Havok’s Andrew Bowell took to the stage Wednesday to explain that Windows Phone 8 games developed using the Havok Technology Suite, will feature "immersive and real 3-D worlds, highly realistic characters and cinematic visuals." Check out Todd Kenreck's video showing off what this could mean below.

Unity has been announced for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.

Windows 8 Phone Might Be Getting Serious About Gaming
http://www.webpronews.com/windows-8-phone-might-be...

The real strength of Unity is that it unifies platforms under a single engine. It’s incredibly easy to port projects built on Unity between different platforms. Developers can make a game in Unity for iOS and easily port it to both Android and Windows Phone 8. From there, they can also bring the game to PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and other platforms.

I wish there was money in it. Prolly why Im going to put my tech site back online to try and make a few bucks from it. My tech site didnt do news or the typical reviews found on every other tech site I think DT, AT, TH, HH, GIZ all do plenty on that front nobody needs more of that.

You can also hook it up to an HDTV if your phone has the port. It's amazing having such a tiny device with emulators playing on a big screen.

So much pent-up, unprovoked rage when it comes to Windows Phone. Anyone would think you have a fascination with it.

Pre-order a Lumia 920 and relax :)

Got it...

And apparently I blocked out "cheerleader for WP7", haha. Man MS made it hard to support the platform after dropping the ball so badly on hardware. Can't do that when SoCs are improving so quickly for everyone else. Same thing is happening with the Surface RT, those specs at that price...

Sorry, the term "Apple defender" would be more correct.

Also sorry to lump you in with the nut-truck bunch, but when you are all over every Apple defending them like you are on a mission, its an easy mistake to keep making. You are certainly the most logical and least angry of the bunch.

Nah, its just the blanket dismissals that I disagree with, especially when the product and ecosystems are as good as they are.

And if anyone is questioning my objectivity, I don't care for the iPad Mini, nor do I care for the 13" Retina Macbook Pro. At that price it just makes more sense to get a 13" MBA or a 15" rMBP. The high and low end of Apple's laptop selection are excellent, its that whole "middle" area, especially with the Fatbooks and their obsolete optical drives, that I really don't get.

Yup, sounds like something an Apple zealot would say! :)

I have always been fairly in the middle. I am registered as independant. 4 years ago you were all over Obama assuming he would be awful and I gave him the benefit of the doubt... You were totally right, he turned out to be awful. The only thing he "changed" was his stance on change. Still not his fault, but he did muck it up and make it worse and the recovery slower.
