Does Google require you run a special software on your pc in order to utilize the Google Play store? Every time you pick up your Nexus 7 and buy a game, do you then get your micro USB cable, connect it to your laptop, load up the Google Play software, and then sync the game to your tablet? No...I certainly hope not lol, why do you expect Apple to be any different?

The day you bought your Nexus 7, you logged in (or created) your account on your device, loaded up the store, then started downloading apps, games, music, tv shows, movies, and everything else you enjoy. Replace "Nexus 7" above with "iPad" and the statement remains just as true.

Apple requires no software to be run on Windows or OSX for an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to be set up, operate, or purchase, enjoy, or re-download content in any way. That includes games, movies, music, apps, ibooks, etc but does not currently include audiobooks. If you buy an audiobook on your ipad, you do need itunes to get it to your iphone, as I already pointed out.
