Patriot Memory has announced its flagship device in
its Gauntlet portable hard drive ecosystem
: the new Gauntlet 320 portable wireless external hard drive.
The Gauntlet 320 portable wireless external hard drive features 320GB of onboard storage and acts as a solution for PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Users will be able to stream, share and store media and data such as pictures, music, movies, etc.
The Gauntlet 320 can connect up to eight devices and stream five at the same time. Gauntlet is capable of 5.5 hours of continuous streaming via its lithium-ion battery and can share one Internet connection with all eight connected devices.
Other Gauntlet 320 specs includes plug-and-play USB 3.0/2.0 for high speed wired data transfers between PCs and laptops; Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK security, and app support for iOS, Android and

From what I gather it's not meant to do the heavy lifting like a NAS, it's more for entertainment and productivity...and it being USB 3.0, why on earth wouldn't you just plug it in to transfer files? Regarding the terrible value comment by the other poster, show me where you can get a wireless 2TB hard drive that you can use with a gang of smart phones and tablets? $160 seems like a pretty good deal, and it now I don't have to spend $100 extra for the larger capacity devices.
