Seems a bit premature

The best I've been able to manage over my 5GHz 802.11n network is about 12-15 MB/s. Over 802.11g I typically see 2-3 MB/s.
USB 2.0 easily hits 25 MB/s. USB 3.0 exceeds the speed of mechanical HDDs, which are typically around 100 MB/s.
If you want to access a HDD wirelessly, you're better off waiting for the new 802.11ac standard. That runs at 87-867 Mbps theoretical. If the approx 2:1 ratio of theoretical to peak real-world performance of past 802.11 standards holds, this will translate to about 5-50 MB/s.

This is designed for folks who bought an iPhone with 8gb or 16gb, only to find out they always run out of space. It's not a bad product, but its price is awful. People can get a 1.5TB 2.5" external for around that same price shipped, or 2.0TB for a bit more.

From what I gather it's not meant to do the heavy lifting like a NAS, it's more for entertainment and productivity...and it being USB 3.0, why on earth wouldn't you just plug it in to transfer files? Regarding the terrible value comment by the other poster, show me where you can get a wireless 2TB hard drive that you can use with a gang of smart phones and tablets? $160 seems like a pretty good deal, and it now I don't have to spend $100 extra for the larger capacity devices.
