The new $129.99 USD bundle will be available through much of the U.S. starting October 28

Nintendo will be releasing a whole new Wii bundle in time for the holiday season, and it will only cost $129.99 USD.

The new bundle will feature a black Wii console along with matching black Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers. It will also include both "Wii Sports" and Wii Sports Resort" games on one disc. The sports games include a variety of options like bowling, tennis, baseball, basketball, etc.

"Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season."

The new $129.99 USD bundle will be available through much of the U.S. starting October 28.

The price slash comes nearly a month before Nintendo plans to release its new Wii U console, which is due out in the U.S. November 18. There will be a basic model for $299.99 and a premium model for $349.99. The new system offers features like 2GB of memory, 1080p graphics and a new Wii U GamePad controller.

Why all the hate on the Wii? I sold it more than 2 years ago cause I needed money and I recently re-bought the Wii as I couldnt resist playing all the fantastic games I missed:

New Super Mario Bros Wii
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Paper Mario
Conduit 2
Red Steel 2
Dead Space Extraction
Disney Epic Mickey
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby's Dream Collection - Special Edition
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Little King's Story
Metroid - Other M
Metroid Prime - Trilogy
Monster Hunter Tri
NiGHTS - Journey of Dreams
Pikmin 2
Project Zero 2 - Wii Edition
Resident Evil 4 - Wii Edition
Silent Hill - Shattered Memories
Sonic Colors
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Monkey Ball
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - Ultimate All-Stars
The Last Story
The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword
TrackMania - Build to Race
Xenoblade Chronicles
And many more I cant remember.

On top of that, you get it at a really cheap price AND with Wiimote Plus integrated.

Cant wait to get the Wii U. And I say all of this having a terrific PC with more than 500 games on steam, and more than 200 games on the PS3 and 360 combined.

Love Nintendo!

It's not hate, but you helped make my point. Look at your list, how many of those are "Mario" games or based on classic Nintendo games from the early 1990's?

Things just get old after a while ya know? /shrug. I think it's great that Nintendo is catering to families with young kinds and all, it's just not for everyone.

i have to agree with reclaimer. nintendo haven't had an original idea in a very long time, all they do is remakes of existing titles. i'm not against a new mario game, but you have to innovate. sega overdid the innovation with the dreamcast and failed to develop enough titles for existing franchises (seaman instead of new versions of well-known titles, for example), but nintendo is simply and firmly stuck in the past. their old stuff is fine, but they need new stuff to attract people older than 12. and decent hardware. i'm tired of the "but the gameplay is more important!" argument; good graphics have never been an impediment to great gameplay. so what's stopping them from building a decent system for once?

That's what nintendo is aiming to fix with the Wii U. The launch title isn't Mario or Zelda, they're pushing ZombiU, albeit a potential ripoff of Resident Evil. Not exactly a game you'd give to your 12yr old.

I can't see the graphics being groundbreaking, that's not Nintendo's style, their appeal is relatively low cost and accessibility for everyone, leaving PS and xbox to duke it out over graphics. Still, if its a strategy that works, don't fix it: you can bet your house that you're going to get the same characters in several never ending quests to save their girlfriends.

Graphics has only not been Nintendos style since the Wii, everyone seems so quick to judge... All their other consoles where superior upon release (aside of gamecube vs xbox, but still GC was superior to PS2 hardware wise). Why do people now forget this?

i'm sorry, but that's a load of horse-dung.

you can't simply say "oh, a mario game", and discard it as though all mario games are alike. each time nintendo has released a new console, the corresponding mario game has been an amazing technological breakthrough (ok, maybe not quite so much with sunshine, but it was still a decent game).

the point is, if one is to take COD or BF as the standard of "evolving gameplay", than sequel mario games shouldn't even be considered mario games; they're THAT different from their predecessors. clearly you don't have a problem with sequels or "rehashed-to-death" games.

likewise, it can't be a story complaint, because let's face it, space marines were bland before halo 1. to wit, i'm not exactly sure what your complaint is here, but i can think of no instance in which your points are legitimate. there are simply so many other successful franchises which disprove your assertions.

if mario, zelda and company were truly dead, then the franchises would also be dead--rather than each new release being critically acclaimed and vying for addition into "best-selling-games" lists.

True. Nothing has stopped you from saying stupid things all day every day.

I mainly play games on my PC, but Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 by themselves made the Wii totally worth it. Works of genius.

What I played of the WiiU at the last two E3s was also great. I cannot wait for Pikmin 3, and what I played of Rayman Legends (super fun co-op) and ZombiU (amazing asymmetrical multiplayer) was also great. I think it'll be a better system than the Wii. What I saw was certainly better than the rest of the other boring cookie cutter console stuff at the show.
