Microsoft Office 2013 Hits RTM Status

Microsoft has announced a very important milestone for the latest version of Office. Yesterday, the Office engineering team signed off on the RTM build of the Office 2013 productivity suite.
"This is the most ambitious release of Office we've ever done. It spans the full family of Office applications, servers and cloud services. The new Office has a fresh, touch friendly design that works beautifully on Windows 8 and unlocks modern scenarios in social, reading, note-taking, meetings and communications. We are proud to achieve this milestone and are eager to deliver this exciting release to our customers," wrote Kirk Koenigsbaure in a blog post on Office.com.
Microsoft also noted that general availability for the new version of Office was planned for the first quarter of 2013. It's also worth noting that starting October 19, customers who purchase Office 2010 from local retailers or from a reseller online will receive an update to the new version of Office at no cost when available.
The preview version of the new Office on Windows RT devices will launch alongside Windows 8 on October 26. Some enterprises and other businesses will also be able to get early access to the new version of Office for internal testing within their organization. Volume licensing customers with Software Assurance will be able to download Office 2013 applications along with other Office products using the Volume Licensing Service Center by the middle of November.
Microsoft also notes that IT professionals and developers will be able to download the final version through TechNet or MSDN subscriptions by the middle of November as well.

Well they will not like Windows 8 then.
As that uses a white theme for the windows.
Sure, you can make it grey. But anywhere past 40% white, and you can't see the window titles.
You can actually make the window chrome black, and the task bar.
But there is no way to change the window titles from anything other than black.
It will be thousands of these poor design choices that end up causing frustration for user, and an overall dislike for anything Windows 8.
And yes, the start button IS annoying by its absence. It makes no sense to go from the desktop to a different screen to load a desktop program.
