Vizio holiday PC line
Machines will use 3rd generation Core processors
Vizio is a company most of us probably associate with HDTVs. However, the company recently got into the computer business with a
full line of all-in-one and ultrabook PCs
. Now, Vizio is revealing its new lineup for the holiday shopping season. Vizio's line of computers includes new 24-inch and 27-inch all-in-one computers and more.
Both of the all-in-one machines are specifically designed to run Windows 8 and feature touchscreen displays. Both are equipped with full HD resolution multi-touch displays that support 10-finger capacitive multi-touch. Vizio is mum on exactly what hardware specifications the machines will carry.
We do know, however, that the all-in-one machines will start at a price of $998 and feature third-generation Intel Core processors. At that starting price, we would expect a modestly spec’d machine likely using a Core i3 or i5 and 4 GB of RAM.
“The new All-in-One Touch PCs with Windows 8 are extremely user friendly, bringing both entertainment and power to the user’s fingertips,” said Matt McRae, VIZIO Chief Technology Officer. “We focused on delivering an enhanced touchscreen and touchpad experience so users can utilize multi-gesture touch options however they’re most comfortable. Not only can customers tap, swipe or pinch directly on the All-in-One’s screen, but they can also utilize the same gestures on the integrated touchpads of the Thin + Light and Notebook PCs.”
Vizio also has two ultrabooks and a notebook computer in its line. The ultrabooks have either a 14-inch or 15.6-inch screen and the notebook uses a 15.6-inch screen. Both of the ultrabooks and the notebook have gesture-supporting touchpads designed to make navigating Windows 8 easy. The computers have SRS Premium Sound HD audio systems and some models of machines feature NVIDIA
-class GeForce graphics processors.
The 15.6-inch notebook will start at $1129 while the ultrabooks start at $849.
“We are excited to be working with VIZIO as it brings Windows 8 to its line-up of holiday PCs,” said John Case, vice president, Worldwide OEM Marketing, Microsoft. “It’s impressive to see VIZIO bringing its expertise in consumer entertainment devices to PCs with HD quality display and premium audio that will provide a rich experience for customers.”

I wasn't aware that minimalist designs were just for Apple users either. But considering Apple products won't get past the sledgehammer in my home, you can't really consider me an iSheep.
I've always enjoyed stealth performance - falcon northwest, lian-li, souped up station wagons... it's all good.
