New Windows 8 gesture supporting mice too
Logitech has been one of the premier manufacturers of computer peripherals and accessories for many years. A lot of computer gamers are particularly fond of Logitech gaming keyboards and mice. Today, Logitech has announced its new G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.
Mechanical keyboards are well known for offering fantastic tactile feel when the keys are pressed, but are often very noisy and annoying. Logitech promises that its new mechanical gaming keyboard offers the tactile feel people expect with significantly less noise. Logitech uses dampening rings underneath each key to reduce the noise even further. Each key on the keyboard has an actuation force of 45 g and a travel distance of four millimeters. The keys are good for 50 million strokes.
Every key on the G710+ features Logitech's anti-ghosting technology, and the keyboard supports 26 simultaneous key presses. It also has a collection of six programmable G-keys that can have macros or other commands bound to them on the fly.
The keyboard will sell for $149.99 and will go on sale this month in the U.S. and in December in Europe.
“The Logitech G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard was created to meet the specific needs of gamers,” said Mark Starrett, senior global product manager for Logitech. “We road tested this keyboard with professional gamers, partners, publishers, and everyday gamers like you and me, to ensure we’ve created a mechanical gaming keyboard that exceeds expectations.”
Logitech has also unveiled several new mice and a new touchpad for Windows 8 users. The products include the Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, the Logitech Touch Mouse T620, Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400. The T650 has a large and smooth glass touch-surface that supports Windows 8 gestures. That surface supports basic point, click, and scroll functions anywhere the fingers may be on its surface.
The T620 is a mouse with a full touch surface for navigation. The mouse supports gestures wherever the fingers rest, even on the edges, for scrolling and app switching. The T400 also has a glass touch-surface supporting gestures on any area of the mouse.
All of these products will ship this month in the U.S. and Europe. The T650 will sell for $79.99; the T620 will sell for $69.99; and the T400 will sell for $49.99.
Logitech also went official a few days ago with its new

I imagine the price will drop pretty quickly. They will have to be competitive with other mechanical keyboards.
They might be able to get away with charging some small premium for it finally being a logitech mechanical keyboard but it will depend on the quality of the build.
