Musician destroyed Microsoft computers then proceeded to turn his aggression on store employees with cocky freestyle

Richard Colson Barker, alias MGK ("Machine Gun Kelly"), comes with some pretty impressive "cred".  He rose to fame/infamy via winning rap battles at the Apollo Theater and was recently named MTV's Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2011.

Seeing as MGK's mix tapes were burning up the underground, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) salivated at the chance to win "street-cred" and joined hip-hop magazine The Source to hold a special event at the Atlanta, Georgia Microsoft Store.  Past events with artists such as Flo Rida (who performed at the Microsoft Store in Orlando) had gone well.  This event did not.

MGK felt compelled to take his performance up a notch by jumping onto tables in the store, stomping around and destroying a number of laptops.  The distraught Microsoft Store employees tried to plead with their guest to stop and cut his mic.

But that only egged on and provoked MGK further as shocked/amused onlookers watched and recorded the incident.

Warning: Video contains strong language and may be inappropriate for children.

Addressing the store employees he offered them a bit of Shakespeare-caliber freestyle poetry, commenting, "Suck my [redacted], I'm up in this mother[redacted]. MGK in this [redacted]. [Redacted] these computers."

In the aftermath Microsoft distanced itself from the incident, saying it didn't hire MGK.  But it did invite him inside.  Microsoft was hoping for attention, clearly, by the guest event, but that hope was soon extinguished when a cocky MGK ditched the script.

Was still a trolololol moment and M$ really deserves this for being silly enough to hire somebody who was "winning rap battles" ...

My idea of "winning rap battles" would be all of those losers getting thrown into a giant pit and fighting amongst themselves until nobody is left moving. Everyone of us wins this way.

I would be saying the same thing if I were them.

What more needs to happen or not before someone realizes Microsoft has the worst Marketing team of any major corporation?

Microsoft would be better off firing the Marketing team and whatever they spend on Marketing/Advertising and just hand out that much in free devices. With social networking the word would get out there much better than the Marketing team at Microsoft can ever try to convince you to buy or use the product.

They didn't hire him

If someone asks you to do a job, which you understand includes remuneration, and then when you arrive to do the job you discover there isn't any remuneration, you do understandably feel cheated. Without trying to guess MGK's motives, someone should have been prepared to pay him. I would have thought that Microsoft should have been paying (as in "handing over of money", not as in "free Microsoft software with retail values that amount to $xxx") at least part of his fee on the grounds their name and products were supposed to be promoted by him.
I do feel sorry for those involved in hiring him because some of them would have risked a lot to do to it, and now that has backfired so badly they could loose their jobs.
