According to the White House, no data was accessed or stolen from classified networks

The White House announced that it had been the victim of a cyber attack, but the hackers didn't get away with any valuable information.

According to a report from Politico, the attack was geared toward a White House Military Office computer system. However, the White House said that the attack was isolated and that it affected an "unclassified network," so no data was stolen.

It was confirmed that the hackers were from China, and that the method for the attack was "spear phishing." This means that the hackers sent an email that contained links or download attachments that were labeled with important tags or phrases to lure in the reader. However, once they click on the links or download the attachment, malware is released into the computer system.

Just last month, it was announced that the White House is working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and others to create an executive order to counter cyber security threats. However, many argue that an executive order isn't good enough -- they say cyber security legislation is necessary because it can offer greater consequences for hackers, give the DHS funding for cyber security workers, etc.

Take it from me, Mitt Romney WON'T look out for you or your family. He didn't look out for mine.

It's thinking like this that puts people like Obama in the White House. It's not the President's job to look out for your family... It's YOURS!!!!

Obama could be better, but he's pretty damned good

I laugh when people write stuff like this. What on earth has he done in his term that has earned him a "pretty damn good" moniker? Please mention that POS Obamacare so you can confirm my suspicions.

Seriously, go Eff yourself. Number one, you have NO idea on my thought process. If you had even the slightest clue you'd immediately realize I'm more practical and indepantant than you seemingly can comprehend in your black/white perspective of life. If only reality could be so simple.

I work full-time. I pay all my bills. I receive NO HANDOUTS. My parents were from Puerto Rico and moved to the states and made their own successes and failures and I learned its all about WHAT YOU EARN YOURSELF.

I was responding to someone elses comment. To suggest I want expect or otherwise command a hand out makes me honestly want to punch you in the face. What an ass

Good for you. Thanks for the classic up-by-the-bootstraps Republican story, and proving we don't need a nanny in the White House to "look out" for all us weak children.

With respect, if you didn't like the individualist, independent spirit embodied in the constitution, then your family should've gone elsewhere. It's annoying, as a conservative, to see conservative places like Texas and Colorado achieve economic success from conservative policies only to be rewarded by leftists fleeing the states where their policies have created hardship and anti-business climates, like Michigan and California and piling in. Now Colorado's a swing state. How long until those left-coast transplants start voting in the same policies that strangle business in the land from which they left?

WTF are you even talking about. I sit here and clearly state I am independant and you reply with nonsense about republican bootstrap bs? My god do you have reading comprehension? Do you think before you speak/type? I can't even justify my response to you because I know the reply will be something like 'uh durrrr i'm right and you're wrong [insert stupid obscenity'. Seriously, do you really think taking such an opinionated and INCORRECT statement and assessment of someone does anything other than portray you as a totally idiot. Try that last sentence again if you do in fact need practice with reading comprehension, its ESPECIALLY important. Dick.

Violent threats on a tech blog!?!?!? Really!?!?! Internet tough guy you need to take a chill, they were your words not mine and I took them at face value.

I'll ask again, "What on earth has he done in his term that has earned him a "pretty damn good" moniker?"

Oh and by the way you can keep your violent threats to yourself there douche
