According to the White House, no data was accessed or stolen from classified networks

The White House announced that it had been the victim of a cyber attack, but the hackers didn't get away with any valuable information.

According to a report from Politico, the attack was geared toward a White House Military Office computer system. However, the White House said that the attack was isolated and that it affected an "unclassified network," so no data was stolen.

It was confirmed that the hackers were from China, and that the method for the attack was "spear phishing." This means that the hackers sent an email that contained links or download attachments that were labeled with important tags or phrases to lure in the reader. However, once they click on the links or download the attachment, malware is released into the computer system.

Just last month, it was announced that the White House is working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and others to create an executive order to counter cyber security threats. However, many argue that an executive order isn't good enough -- they say cyber security legislation is necessary because it can offer greater consequences for hackers, give the DHS funding for cyber security workers, etc.

It is at times like this that I miss Countdown with Keith Olbermann, if for nothing else than to highlight the inaccuracy of what they spout as a news network.

You expect anything of truth on MSLSD?

Just yesterday they got caught doctoring footage of a Romney/Ryan rally.

Fox isn't perfect either but I beg you to find me an example of them editing footage to make it appear that something happened or someone said something they didn't. I looked yesterday and the only things I immediately found was an article about them "doctoring" footage of Occupy Wall Street by putting clips from The Terminator in it(not doctoring in the context we're referring to) and a Huffington Post article about Fox doctoring a Romney speech to remove a gaffe he made. Then another link was the retraction of that article saying that Fox what had actually shown was a different part of the speech without the gaffe.

"Fox isn't perfect either but I beg you to find me an example of them editing footage to make it appear that something happened or someone said something they didn't."

"You didnt build that" would be one example that came to mind. They edited the hell out of it to make it sound entirely different than the whole thing when played in its entirety. Obama was talking about roads and infrastructure, not businesses.

Dont jump all over me, I am not voting for the guy, I am just answering your question about Fox new. Are they full of shit? Yes they are.

+1

You can't be serious when you say that the 'other side' does it but we don't. BOTH sides do it. Any one that thinks otherwise is ignorant of the world of politics.

Yup... Its really funny once you realize that. You sit back and watch both sides doing the exact same thing and accusing the other of it. Then the mock outrage. "well, I just cant believe they did that" referring to the exact same thing they do themselves. LOL
