SBB is reportedly looking to make a deal with Apple, where the railway company will likely seek a licensing fee
They say "what goes around, comes around" -- and it looks like Apple is finally getting a dose of its own medicine in the patent infringement department.
A railway company in Switzerland, called Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), has accused Apple of copying its clock design for iOS 6. SBB said its company created that clock design back in 1944, and that Apple's new iOS 6 clock app is identical. See for yourself:

"We are proud that this icon of clock design is being used by a globally successful company," said Reto Kormann, SBB spokesperson. "We've approached Apple and told them that the rights for this clock belong to us."

, and also launched its
in eight countries today.
SBB's move against Apple comes at an interesting time. After a 1+ year-long battle with Samsung over smartphone/tablet patent infringement lawsuits around the globe, a U.S. jury
found Samsung guilty of copying the iPhone/iPad
for its Galaxy line. Not only was Samsung ordered to pay $1.05 billion USD in damages, but a court date on December 6 may lead to more product bans for the South Korean electronics maker. Apple is also looking to
boost that $1.05 billion fine to $3 billion

It's not the 12-hour clock face that is an issue but this specific design and color scheme that is trademarked. Apple copied this exact design not slightly copied but copied it exactly without asking. Apple has sued random companies for using any apple or apple-like design for their logo don't see why this is different considering it is a direct copy of the design.

While i enjoy a good apple bashing from time to time, it's the truth i have allegiance to and in this case, that means pointing out:
How is this any better for the consumer then what apple does? Just because a troll gets trolled, doesn't mean the trolling is any better for society.
They are asking money for the design of a clock face (not even how it works). Which they designed 67 years ago. Which, for many people, is longer then their entire life.
IMO it's just further proof the patent/trademark system should be scrapped alltogether, or limited severly in time with no possibility to transfer rights, but really just scrapped alltogether. It will not impede innovation, it will enhance innovation to levels we haven't seen before. What it will impede, is the big amounts of money being sloshed around for what people >supposedly< invented at some time or another.
Specific design and color scheme. Bitch please. It's a couple of black bars on a white background. A zebra running in a cicle would be prior art.
"It's okay. The scenarios aren't that clear. But it's good looking. [Steve Jobs] does good design, and [the iPad] is absolutely a good example of that." -- Bill Gates on the Apple iPad
