Samsung hits comedy gold... again

Samsung knows a good thing when it sees it. The company struck gold with its TV commercials mocking iPhone users late last year. The commercials depicted rabid Apple fans that wait in long lines to snap up the latest iteration of the iPhone.
Over the weekend, Samsung upped the ante with a print ad that directly went after Apple's new iPhone 5.
And now, Samsung is ready for a second round of "Apple Mockery" TV advertising. If the first commercials were amusing to you, this one is sure to tickle your funny bone as well. 

Here are some choice quotes:

"They're saying this phone is going to be like a precious jewel"
"All I'm saying is they should have a priority line for people that have waited 5 times"

Importance of resolution is partly the product of viewing distance. A 1080p HDTV has MUCH lower pixel density than a 22" 1080p monitor that is sitting on your desktop, but its fine because you are viewing it from eight feet away instead of two feet away. Both appear apparently the same from their practical viewing distances.

The same logic applies to something like a phone or a tablet. A phone is being held closer to your face than a tablet, hence the need for higher DPI. "Retina" is a marketing term for when you cannot discern pixels from one another, that's all. It is why a phone has higher pixel density than a tablet, which has higher pixel density than a newer 15" rMBP. Viewing distance is an integral part of the equation.

I expect more knowledge from people on a supposed "techie" site. I'm pretty surprised looking at all the responses here.
