Samsung hits comedy gold... again

Samsung knows a good thing when it sees it. The company struck gold with its TV commercials mocking iPhone users late last year. The commercials depicted rabid Apple fans that wait in long lines to snap up the latest iteration of the iPhone.
 
Over the weekend, Samsung upped the ante with a print ad that directly went after Apple's new iPhone 5.
 
And now, Samsung is ready for a second round of "Apple Mockery" TV advertising. If the first commercials were amusing to you, this one is sure to tickle your funny bone as well.

"They're saying this phone is going to be like a precious jewel"
"All I'm saying is they should have a priority line for people that have waited 5 times"

Apple uses a much smaller battery and gets better battery life in several important usage scenarios. Like web browsing.

And significantly less in talk time, standby and hotspot. That would be 3 to 1 and I call that better. Also, keep in mind that browsing is done on a larger screen with higher res.

Standby? I haven't seen the SGIII, but just about every Android phone I come in contact has crappy standby. At my company most people have iPhones, while some opted for Android phones. The Android always need to be charged more often. My co-corker finally gabe up and just got an iPhone, as there were too many times he'd pick his phone up and fund it dead. I can go several days without charging my 4S.

Android 2.xx sucked at alot of things. Enter 2012 and Android 4.1. It has not only caught up but surpassed IOS on almost every front. You need to update yourself on todays phones.

Android 4.1 STILL does not have a native Cisco IPSEC vpn client like iOS has had for 2 revs.

The encryption method and opening Android when encrypted is awkward while iOS is seamless.

Being a single hardware manufacturer provides consistent and TIMELY is updates. How many phones are shipping with Jelly bean?

You are absolutely right... The Benefit of Android is flexiblity, the negative is updates, compatiblity with some apps. Another problem is perception. 2.x sucked so bad that alot of people were turned off. Fault Google for that.

But now, today the benefits far outweigh the negatives... At least to most people.

Umm, I connect to our IPSec VPN just fine with my Android phone -- and did with a free app prior to 4.0.

Running GNex w/ 4.0, and now 4.1.

Settings > Network > VPN > Types:

PPTP
L2TP/IPSec PSK
L2TP/IPSec RSA
IPSec Xauth PSK
IPSec Xauth RSA
IPSec Hybrid RSA

Sounds like a layer 8 issue to me.

We can probably gauge by your incredible spelling ability the overall intelligence of your co-workers, and let me guess -- you're the 'geek' of the office.. I sure hope you don't do much correspondence at work.

Battery life specs are something you can't really fudge too far, as the FCC checks them in the same way the EPA checks auto mileage ratings. Other Androids aside, a simple comparison between the iP5 and the GS3 shows the Samsung handset to have far superior battery life in practically every usage scenario.

A year or two ago, before lte-enabled radio chips were brought down to a smaller silicon process (cheaper, more efficient), you would be totally right -- exactly the reason why Apple refused to put 4g in the iP 4S, as it'd be plagued by poor battery life like all the more modern flagship androids of the time. Though, that sure didn't stop Apple from putting a '4G' status icon when in a 3G HSPA+ network (they thought it'd be fine.. hey, it's 'almost' as fast).

Ur an idiot, LTE is not 4g specifications either and real world specs for HSPA+ r not far from LTE NOT EVEN Considerin the (then) trade offs, and worst of all u know this but ur still out and about spewin contrived crap being a biased moron. And Besides all that, it was rely becuz of AT&T dat dat was done.

On top of this apple even took off the 4G name from their new iPads bcuz of this and now call it "cellular". blame ur shitty American tele companies for the 3G/4g "conundrum", if u wil, not apple - and plz find sumthin better to do or get a life.

In no way is sIII's battery better than iPhone 5's.
