5.5-inch phone/tablet will pack a quad-core processor and LTE/HSPA+
Samsung Electronics Comp., Ltd. (KSC:005930) is trying to not let Apple's legal attacks hinder its stellar U.S. sales performance. It's been busy announcing new models of late, including the Galaxy Note II, which features the S-Pen technology.
The first generation Note was a modest sales success, but the next generation brings far more to the table. It packs largely in-house hardware -- a gorgeous 1280 x 720 HD Super AMOLED display, a beastly 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos system-on-a-chip, and 2 GB of DRAM.
Both the latest HSPA+ spec and LTE will be supported and the device will ship with Google Inc.'s (GOOG) latest and greatest Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean". The body designs -- like HTC Corp.'s (TPE:2498) new Windows Phones and Nokia Oyj.'s (HEX:NOK1V) Lumia line -- will come in an array of colorful polycarbonates.
The device will be available on all major U.S. carriers "by mid-November" [source].
