Players can use the pigs to build shelters and other contraptions for protection against the birds

With only a little over a week left until Rovio releases its latest game -- Bad Piggies -- the Angry Birds creator has released a few details on the gameplay.

According to Rovio, Bad Piggies will be a completely different franchise from Angry Birds because the gameplay is nothing like that found in the bird-flinging original.

While Angry Birds focuses on flinging birds into shelters that the pigs have built for safety, Bad Piggies is the opposite: gamers, which are playing as the pigs, create shelters out of various materials in hopes of gaining protection against the projectile birds.

The pigs will create various shelters, vehicles and flying machines that are anything but sturdy, and then put their creations to work against the birds. This may sound like a lot of work compared to Angry Birds, which only requires users to use a slingshot movement, but Rovio assures that it will still be quick and easy gameplay. Materials used to build the shacks and planes can be dragged and dropped into an already-mapped-out design.

Bad Piggies is due to release September 27 for iOS, Android and Mac.

Yes, very boring......to hardcore gamers who have nothing better to do than sit in front of a TV or monitor for hours at a time.

Which is why it will probably be one of the best selling mobile games this year. Rovio already has the record for most games ever sold, which I expect this one to do well also.

You don't have to have fantastic graphics, an in depth plot or advanced physics with super powered CPU/GPU combos to have fun. Imagine that.

Life's too short for all the hate. Enjoy what you want and leave others to enjoy what they want.

JTMC...So Pirks opinion is wrong, HC gamers have too much time on their hands, but leave people alone to do what they enjoy...

Pirk's opinion is just that. Opinion.

I on the other hand only posted facts, with admittedly a bit of commentary.

Hard Core gamers do spend hours playing games. I don't think you can argue that the basic definition of hard core. Too much time on their hands is my commentary, but tends to be quite accurate. Anyone who has time to play games for hours does have a lot of extra time. I wish I did, haven't touched my Xbox in over a year, despite a growing stack of unopened games.

Secondly, I also spoke the truth about Rovio's games being the best selling......ever. Pirks dismissed them, but the market has spoken.

I didn't attempt to levy any criticism towards HC gamers. But the facts are that they are an extreme minority. Your charge of me being a troll is unfounded, and you know it.
