The Wii U will be available in two different models: a Basic Set and a Deluxe version.
Nintendo announced price, launch and system details concerning its new Wii U console today -- and U.S./Japan residents will soon be able to get their hands on it.
Nintendo fans can expect two different Wii U models: a Deluxe version and a Basic Set version. The Basic Set features 8 GB HDD, a Wii U Pad controller and it in comes in white. The Deluxe model, on the other hand, offers 32 GB HDD, a Wii U Pad controller, power cradles for the Wii U Pad, an HDMI cable and it comes in black.
Some extras that Nintendo fans can look forward to include a separate controller called the Wii U Pro, which resembles an Xbox 360 controller; 25 GB game discs; Wii U's social network Mii Universe, and the system itself is backwards compatible with the original Wii console.
The launch titles for Wii U are "Nintendoland" and the "New Super Mario Bros."
Looking to pick up a Basic Set? It'll cost you $299.99. Or, if you're looking to go all out with the Deluxe model, Nintendo will hit your wallet for $349.99.
Wii U will hit the U.S. on November 18 while those in Japan will have to wait until December 8.

the article forgot one MAIN difference between the basic and deluxe-a game.
the deluxe ALSO comes with nintendoland (50 dollar value)
rechargable cradle for the tablet and auto enrollment in their digital deluxe program- you get 10% back in digital dollars per digital purchase for additional digital content
so say you buy zombiu digitally for 60, you get 6 dollars "in your account" to buy anything else in the nintendo shop.
for those saying "weak"
do NOT compare this to the ps3 or 360 compare it to nintendo's LAST console. the Wii...
this console -graphically- is ~20x the power of the wii,
sure it is no powerhouse vs what is coming next from ms and sony, but it does not need to be, it just has to be "good enough" to get all the ports- which is it). will ports for the ps3 or 360 look BETTER on the wiiU? no, because those consoles are cpu centric for it's power, the wiiu is gpgpu centric, so all "next gen" engines that are gpgpu centric designs, will run...yes that includes unreal4.

100% agree. if gaming is going to remain stagnant at 1080p, then the wii u has plenty of power for the task at hand.
this console war (ms will be next, sony isn't planning on a release for several more years) will be very much determined by software support, and not by hardware specs. nintendo has always had a strong pimp-hand when it comes to 1st party games. let's hope that 3rd parties don't continue to exhibit the fanboishness that they have with the current console generation.
